About Pearson VUE
Pearson VUE acquired its first academic admissions client in 2003 when it signed a contract with the Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®) to be the exclusive global exam delivery provider of the Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®). In April 2006, Pearson VUE expanded its academic offerings by signing a contract with Excelsior College to deliver examinations for credit.
Pearson VUE began delivering certification exams for Novell in 1997. Since then it has expanded to deliver exams globally for leaders in the certification testing industry such as Cisco®, CompTIA®, Citrix®, Novell® and many more.
FINRA (formerly NASD), a pioneer in electronic testing and the world’s leading private-sector provider of financial regulatory services, signed an exclusive agreement with Pearson VUE in 1999 to deliver all exams outside the United States and Canada. In 2003, another agreement was signed to provide computer-based delivery of securities and continuing education exams in the United States.
In 2003, Pearson VUE was awarded the world’s largest computer-based testing contract for the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) of Great Britain and the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) of Northern Ireland. In December 2005, Pearson VUE signed an agreement allowing all DANTES recognized Service Education Centers to become Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers and deliver credentialing association’s certification exams.
Health and Medicine
Pearson VUE entered the Health and Medicine licensing market in 1999 when it became the sole provider of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX®), nursing exams. Other clients in the health and medicine industry that now rely on Pearson are the American Board of Surgery and the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
Pearson VUE’s regulatory business has been providing comprehensive testing and licensing services to state regulatory and certification bodies for insurance, real estate, nurse aide, cosmetology, mortgage lenders, contractors, and professional certification for over 25 years.
