C++ Institute Certifications
C++ Institute was established with a purpose to promote the C/C++ programming languages, provide a global framework for C/C++ examinations as well as enhance, develop and support professional careers in C/C++ programming and related technologies.
C++ Institute is proud to offer professional certifications designed to provide industry recognition of your knowledge, skills and proficiency in C and C++ programming.
C++ Institute built two paths of education, testing and certification. The first path covers the C programming language and the second one the C++ programming language. Each programming path consists of three levels of qualifications: associate, professional, and senior.
The growing demand for C and C++ programmers has resulted in the necessity for gaining recognition for one’s programming skills and expertise. C++ Institute and Pearson VUE have undertaken to provide exclusive delivery of the certification program they have created for the C and C++ programming languages.
Find the right exam
C++ Institute is happy to offer the following certification exams to test candidates:
|Exam logo||Exam||Exam code||Exam length||Passing score|
|CPA - C++ Certified Associate Programmer||CPA||65 minutes (exam) + 10 minutes (NDA/Tutorial)||80%|
|CPP - C++ Certified Professional Programmer||CPP||65 minutes (exam) + 10 minutes (NDA/Tutorial)||80%|
|CLA - Programming Language Certified Associate||CLA||65 minutes (exam) + 10 minutes (NDA/Tutorial)||70%|
|CLP - Programming Language Certified professional - CLP (available from December 2016)||CLP||65 minutes (exam) + 10 minutes (NDA/Tutorial)||70%|
To gain a higher level certification the candidate must already hold a lower level credential. This means that if a candidate wishes to receive a CPP certificate, they must pass two exams: CPA and CPP. Similarly, if a test candidate wishes to receive a CPS certificate, they must pass the CPA, CPP and CPS exams. The same applies to the C language path.
Please note that the C and C++ exams at the senior level are currently not available. The expected date of publishing the CPS and CLS exams is December 2017.

To find more study resources, please go to www.cppinstitute.org.
Verify your certification
C++ Institute has created an online system to verify all C++ Institute credentials held by candidates all over the world. Candidates may now have others easily verify their certification status by using a unique certificate verification code. The certificate verification code can be found on all certificates issued by C++ Institute in the bottom right-hand corner.
If you wish to authenticate a certificate issued to an individual, visit our Certificate Verification page and enter the candidate’s verification code for each certification they hold. After entering the verification code, you will be presented with authentication details relating to the holder of the certificate.
When a candidate fails an exam he or she must wait 15 days before being allowed to re-sit that exam. There is no limit to the number of retakes of a failed exam. No retakes of a passed exam are allowed.
