National Registry of Food Safety Professionals

National Registry of Food Safety Professionals has developed certification programs for both the retail and manufacturing environments. Industry professionals who should consider these programs include wait staff, chefs, cooks, bartenders, hosts and hostesses, food manufacturers and supervisory personnel, such as the general manager or managers.

Certifications

International Certified Food Safety Manager (ICFSM)

The International Certified Food Safety Manager program is accredited by ANSI under both CFP and ISO/IEC 17024 standards. You play a major role in keeping food safe. As part of your job, you need to know how to protect the public from foodborne illness. Taking this exam will help you measure how well you understand food safety and show you how to apply this knowledge in the workplace.
This program has been developed to assess the knowledge and skills of entry-level food managers in the food industry.

To become an International Certified Food Safety Manager, you must pass the ICFSM exam.

  • The exam consists of 80 questions and 5 pilot questions that must be completed in 120 minutes.

Certified Food Safety HACCP Manager

A Certified Food Safety HACCP Manager is a professional who has the ability to develop, implement, and maintain a risk-based food safety system by applying HACCP principles to ensure a safe food supply. A Certified Food Safety HACCP Manager should be able to perform the following functions: Conducting preliminary activities, conducing hazard analyses, establishing detailed control measures, conducting verification activities, conducting operational implementation activities, and conducting continuous improvement activities.

The purpose of the HACCP program is to identify individuals who demonstrate that their knowledge and skills meet specified food safety standards. This program has been developed to assess the knowledge and skills of food managers in the retail and manufacturing industry.

Non-Disclosure and Code of Conduct Agreement

You will be required to affirm that you have read and accept the terms of the NRFSP Non-Disclosure and Code of Conduct Agreements onscreen before you will be able to schedule an appointment to take the International Certified Food Safety Manager Exam. Please take a moment to review the terms of the Non-Disclosure Agreement Adobe reader required (37 KB pdf) and the Code of Conduct Agreement Adobe reader required (52 KB pdf). If you choose not to accept these terms, you will not be allowed to schedule your exam.

Scheduling

Please recognize National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP) as the client when registering. When creating your Pearson VUE web account, you will be asked to provide your NRFSP ID. This ID is created by Pearson VUE. If you are a first-time test-taker, you will not yet have a NRFSP ID and you should leave this field blank.

Be sure of your exam date when scheduling. A $20 cancellation/reschedule fee applies to all cancelled or rescheduled exam dates if you call the call center to change your appointment date. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment on the web registration system, no fees will be applied.
