Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE)
The Ohio Department of Education contracted with the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson for the administration of the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) program. This includes the OAE for candidates seeking initial licensure or who are adding a new licensure area (OAE: Initial Licensure) and the OAE for currently licensed teachers retesting in content areas they instruct (OAE: Current Teachers).
The OAE: Initial Licensure program assesses the content-area and professional (pedagogical) knowledge of candidates who are seeking Ohio educator licensure or adding a new licensure area.
The OAE: Current Teachers program is designed for currently licensed, practicing teachers who are required to test under Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3319.58. Tests included in the program assess content-area knowledge.
Please visit the OAE website at www.oh.nesinc.com to view a complete listing of the assessments that are available.
